A crowd of about 400 people greeted wind farm developers at an information meeting in West Grey last night.
Nextera Energy hopes to erect up to 12 wind turbines in an area east of Durham in Glenelg Township. People in West Grey worry about possible adverse health effects, a decline in property values and consider the turbines an eyesore.
Nextera spokesperson Steve Stengel says they’ll proceed with the project despite the opposition. However he says there are still environmental studies to be done to ensure they’ve chosen the right location.
